On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, Gavin Dennis presented at the Government of Jamaica’s Audit Commission Conference on the topic “Cyber-Attack & Security: Putting the Audit Committee on High Alert. The conference was in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and included Chief Audit Executives, Audit Committee members and groups of students from 2 local universities (UWI and UTECH).
Presenting to the Association of Aspiring Accountants at the University of the West Indies Mona Campus in Jamaica
On February 22, 2018, Gavin Dennis presented to The Association of Aspiring Accountants (AAA), a student club at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Campus in Kingston, Jamaica.The presentation was titled “Cyber-Attacks, Security and IT Audit” and was tailored around psychologically arming the students to become ready for the cyber attacks they may face as start their careers. Some of the items discussed included: Phishing, Social Media, Tailgating, Vishing, Physical Theft, and Malware.
Presenting at the University of Technology Jamaica (UTECH) Tech Talks 2018
On February 16, 2018, Gavin Dennis presented to a group of university students at the University of Technology Jamaica’s (UTech) Tech Talk 2018. The presentation was titled “WHAT NEXT? Certifications from ISACA” and was focused on motivating the group of students to pursue certifications within the IT field after graduating.
In addition to ISACA, some security certifications from the following vendors were discussed: CompTIA, ISC2, EC Council, Offensive Security and PCI Council.
